Uncovering the past

Staff at Ketton works are trying to make family connections with a century-old photograph of quarrymen to current employees and those in the wider Ketton community.

The image, taken in 1920, was unearthed in the works’ visitor centre. All 35 men are named, many with surnames that either relate to former employees or have strong Ketton or Oakham connections. They include Feggy Crowson and Gedge Dumford as well as the surnames Green, Burrows, Walpole and Berridge.

Do you have a connection to anyone in the photograph? Please get in touch and let us know by emailing: kettoncementworks@uk.heidelbergmaterials.com
