Criggion quarry light a fire beacon to celebrate Queen's 90th birthday

Criggion Quarry lit a fire beacon at Rodney's Pillar above the quarry to celebrate the Queens' 90th birthday. The local councils and Scout groups were invited and this letter of thanks was received:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your fellow work colleagues for your hard work and organisation in sorting out the Beacon to celebrate the Queens 90th Birthday.

The night was fantastic with a great turnout of local residents.I have received various comments from local people who had sight of the beacon and thought it was a fitting tribute and a wonderful sight.

So on behalf of the local Community Councils and Scouts Montgomeryshire please accept my thanks to you and Heidelberg Materials and please pass on thanks to the land owners and Natural Resources for Wales for their kind allowance for the event to take place, everyone who attended had a very enjoyable evening at an event to be remembered.

Best Regards

Christopher Gilliard
Chair Llandysilio Community Council
District Commissioner, Montgomeryshire Area Scout Council
